BE THE NEST!

One major key to reclaim balance or some inner peace on a DAILY basis is…

…your nest! Your home!

One thing we learned as a family, especially in our travels and international relocating when we had to, was to have a strong base: a place of sanctuary! NO ONE can have enough peace of mind to go thru the day, if your home is regularly bombarded with some chaos.

So, how do we make your so called nest, a haven for recharging you and calming vibes?

SIMPLE! Try the following:

No regular loud noises or blaring ones coming from the TV or video games be it on a PC, laptop, phone even within an app.

When communicating, lower the tone, try to stay cool and chilled. Sure, some days, as life brings a regular enough amount of unforeseeable accidents or mistakes (machines do that too by the way), we may lose the plot for a minute but then, we must stop at a moment. Breathe slowly in and out for about a minute. Recollect. Then communicate with someone for a solution as shouting crazily will not add neither fun nor a resolve. If necessary, walk away for a few minutes in another calmer room or outside to take a breather, then come back calmed down.

Chores? They get done, relax. As life is organized chaos from things whirling in the cosmos within imperfect but regular planets rotations, to our daily amalgam of actions within trying to have a plan, be it for schooling, a job, or studying, which only work to a certain level but not perfect per se. Do chores when you can but not in an ongoing frenzy manner. Time is our MOST valuable asset on this form. Use it well. Things will get done, one way or another.

Have a positive DOWNTIME which relaxes you: reading or listening to music or watching a cool documentary (a positive or enlightening one, no gory stuff) for example, does work. Beware of watching horror videos that may be not the B movie kind but way scarier or where cruelty is shown: that is a slippery slope to some Darkness that will consume you. We do not need to see that at all.

Have a laugh: a brilliant thing machine do not have. We, as human, may use laughing to relax, to even heal. Long ago, Dr Patch Adams, whom I conversed with, promoted and his institute still does, the power of laughter! Be in on a DVD form or on Youtube (where, amazingly, much oldies to newer material of having a laugh is on), go for it: some examples in the UK includes Dad’s Army, Are You Been Served, Dinner Ladies, The Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder, Red Dwarf and more. In the USA, Everybody Love Raymond, The King of Queens, Cheers, Frasier, Friends, In Living Colors, Brian Regan (the comedian) even a soft Who’s The Boss… in France: Coluche, 10 pour cent, Caméra Café, Le Bébête Show , and many “sketches comiques” via cable channels…the list goes on. As well as some show in any other native language you have!

Be a kid again! Honestly, paying bills, rent, mortgage, working, having a job, logistics of yourself/couple/family in reaching where you need to go vehicle wise, wear and tear, MOT and Road Tax to keep on top included, food to buy to survive, hygiene to do on a daily basis, looking after someone else or/and a child or children and the list so goes on! CLAIM BACK some sweet, gentle, soothing time…like a kid. Read comics, do some simple coloring, watch cartoons as crazy as, for examples, Bugs Bunny or funky like SpongeBob Squarepants or something hyper gentle and magical like Mr Benn (again on dvd, mp4 or on Youtube!) or Bananaman even Spirou (in French if you want to be exotic) or in Mexican Spanish as it is out there fun wise like El Chavo Animado etc…grab a kid’s book to learn stuff without to have the “Google that” reflex like robot…investigate…discover…use powerful imagination…do not always react to what you read like online; do really read, digest, understand like, with a book! Remember also that reading/watching material that you appreciate in YOUR native language, is a major component for giving you soothing vibes.

Be like the wind thru the leaves! True nature is harsh as we know BUT at the same time (like duality seems to be so present everywhere) also quite calming for the mind, the soul. One of my tricks is to go near a tree that is either in your garden, or near your home and when it is windy; just stop (safely of course) and listen to the leaves speaking. Clear your mind of worries for the moment, reconnect to going with that flow. It works wonders. You may do that daytime but if at night, make sure it is safe around you to do so (meaning, no one around and nearby a light if on the street or park).

Observe some natural beauty which captures the Heavens! It can be a bird, a flower, a river…even a photo of a beautiful butterfly you may have on your desk or near where you seat. It does wonders as you can be in awe of colors and patterns created by heavenly design!
